Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) data and analytics
A complete view of competition claim and court proceedings
The Competition Module is now available: a complete view and in-depth analysis of the CAT as well as the corpus of competition judicial decisions in both the Competition List and CAT.
The new CAT dataset is comprehensive and includes never-seen-before insights on:
Over 400 claims to date going back to 2014
Almost 2,000 parties
Over 90 law firms
More than 25 chambers and 150 barristers
Over 350 judgements
Almost 100 experts
You can now track and monitor new and ongoing cases to stay on top of competition matters. At the same time, a host of new analytical views has been unlocked such as outcome patterns, trends in legal and factual subject matters, the most active parties and law firm market share.
This module is integrated into the platform, but CAT claim and judgment pages include additional details due to the nature of these claims.
See the panel of judges listed in the key details of a claim as well as on a CAT judgment
View related claims or appeals in the key details of a claim as well as from the dropdown for a comprehensive list. Related claims will follow suit in terms of the judgment reached by the panellists on a representative claim
Free text alerts
Create alerts for parties and law firms from terms or phrases
We’ve improved the precision of our email alert notifications by introducing ‘free text’ alerts to our custom Alert Builder. You can now set up daily or weekly alerts for any text, name or phrase for parties and law firms.
This allows you to proactively and preemptively create alerts for any party or law firm that have not yet had any activity in the English High Court since 2014 and, therefore, isn’t listed within the platform. You can also save time by creating alerts for certain phrases, words or umbrella terms that may encompass multiple entities within a single alert, instead of manually creating alerts for each individual entity itself.
Previously, to track new parties not already in the Solomonic database, users were required to email our support team for manual processing. Now, you can do it yourself with ease, speed and precision.
To access this, navigate to the Alert Builder from your profile page at the top right-hand corner of the platform and select ‘My alerts’ from the drop-down menu. Select the green ‘Alert builder’ button and choose to track either ‘Parties’ or ‘Law firms’ (please note this functionality is currently limited to these options). Click on ‘Search term’ and then ‘Enter a term’ to simply type in the name of the organisation/s in the entry field. You can filter this further, specify your alert frequency and even set up the same alert for colleagues. Any activity that pertains to the searched term will update you through the activity alert.
